The Cat

We got a new cat about a month ago, from that List where you can Find Stuff. It was kind of a ‘rescue’ thing, because he was about to be evicted. So, we took him in. We named him Rascal, and for the first 2 weeks you have never seen a sweeter little kitten in your life! Purring and cuddling – just a fuzzy little ball of love! But cats have short memories, and he soon forgot that we saved him from a life on the streets. In fact, if you ask him today, he will tell you that he owns the property and we are renting from him! He terrorizes our Lab, Nemo and makes sliced cheese of anyone he can pounce on! And that sucker is fast! He is just a black blur, shooting across the living room like a missile and landing claws first on my ankle. And heaven help you if he is sleeping in the corner of the couch and you sit down close to him – YIKES! He turns into a fur covered chain saw, and will tunnel a hole right through your @$$ in the blink of an eye! But we have discovered his weak spot – water! He does NOT like to get wet! When we toss him in the bath tub, somehow he lands on the tips of his claws and seems to be able to almost hover for a second, till the rotors in his paws kick in. Then he is like one of those swamp boats with the huge fan on the back, just skimming the surface of the water till he can hook a claw on dry ground (or human flesh) and escape. I avoid him like the plague, but my grandson, Zac, adores him, so I guess he is staying … as long as he doesn’t raise the rent again.
